About Amalur EIS

Amalur EIS is an initiative developed within the Ekopol research group at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Grounded in rigorous analysis, it aims to have both an international and local scope within the European framework.

Vision

To put our scientific and technological knowledge at the service of a project that contributes new metrics, indicators and evidence to drive the adoption of urgent measures aimed at mitigating the severe climate emergency and environmental crisis affecting the planet due to human activity.

Objectives

Amalur EIS aims to: improve transparency around emissions by providing information on environmental impacts to citizens; support public policy design; and facilitate advanced data analysis for research and teaching.

Mission

To produce, with scientific rigour, reliable information on the environmental impact of polluting sources that is relevant for:

  • citizens, in the exercise of their right to free and open access to information;
  • public and private actors with the capacity and responsibility to take decisions aimed at protecting the environment through concrete preventive and corrective actions; and
  • the academic community in its commitment to innovation and research.
